Weekend in Miami

Finn and I went to Miami for the weekend for his aunt Fiona's babyshower (Tia Fia). He also met his Tia Kirsten and Tio Niels for the first time. He had lots of stories to tell Niels and they seemed to connect right away. He definitely remembered his Mima (Tia Pieta) from a few months ago. He loved looking at all the tropical colors and gave a palm frond branch a good shaking.

Finn's first camping trip

After loading up the Roadmaster on Friday we hit the road for Vermont, channeling the style of the Beverly Hillbillies (spare tire on the roof- dog in the back) and made it to the state park...just in time for a light thunder shower. We set up our tent, luckily we had a "lean-to" and lit a fire for dinner and so began Finn's first night in the wilderness. The lean-to was great, a basic 3 sided shed/shelter to keep our things out of the rain, providing a dry place to set up the camp stove.
Sometime during the first night we all woke up to the strangest sound....owls. Maisie slept in the back of the car and begged to be let inside the tent once she heard the owls. (We didn't let her in-I know; shocking)
We went on some nice hikes, Finn hung out with his friends Jackie, Sola, Iris and Emory, we relaxed by the campfire, which Finn found absolutely fascinating; until it put him to sleep. Each of the 3 nights he slept at least 8 consecutive hours. Must've been all that fresh Vermont air.
